Michigan Says “No” To Kid Rock
Who says "no" to Kid Rock?
Well, apparently the state of Michigan does. According to the Detroit News, an official with the Michigan Department of Corrections says it has denied a production company's request to film a Kid Rock music video inside an Ypsilanti women's prison. Kid Rock had made a request to perform for 2,000 prisoners at the Huron Valley Correctional Facility but that request was denied. Officials said that having a concert at the prison would create "a host of security issues." Therefore, the request was denied.
But wait--there's more...There still could be a chance for Kid Rock to perform at a prison in Michigan. His people are now talking to the people at the vacant maximum security prison in Standish. That facility has been closed since October of 2009. Stay tuned...
