Michigan Police K9 Dies In The Line Of Duty
Rest in peace, young Axe.
According to MLive, K9 Officer Axe of the St. Clair Shores Police died on Sunday, November 4th. Axe and his human police handler were among those pursuing a suspect who was reported as having a gun. Axe was brought in to sniff out the suspect after he fled from police, and while in pursuit, the suspect "fatally shot" Axe. The human police on the scene returned fire and stopped the threat.
Axe just celebrated his 4th birthday on August 2nd, and had only been with St. Clair Shores Police department for the last two years when he passed away last night. Looking at the St. Clair Shores Police Facebook page, you can tell that Axe was a loved doggo and a very good boi.
Other police departments, including our own Bath Township Police Department are reaching out with their condolences, thoughts, and prayers during this time. To read more about Officer Axe, click here.
