Michigan needs 5,000 Rosie the Riveters
Two years ago, according to MLive.com, the Yankee Air Museum near Detroit, gathered together almost 2,100 Rosie the Riveter look-a-likes to set the record for "Largest Gathering of Rosie the Riveters". Last year, 2,229 "Rosies" gathered in Richmond, California to take the record away.
CALIFORNIA? Are you kidding me? Rosie the Riveter is a MICHIGAN girl! Famous for working on B-24 bombers at the Willow Run Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti during World War II. This must be corrected.
So, the Yankee Air Museum is looking for 5,000 Rosie the Riveters (that'll show 'em) to gather at Eastern Michigan (they need a bigger space for that many Rosies) on October 14th. (It's a Saturday - have to be there by 11AM)
Here's the story, with the full details. Good luck, ladies.
