Michigan DNR Encourages Your “Coyote Hazing”
With people off the streets for the most part these days and their population booming, coyotes are common - even in downtown areas of large cities. And with more and more people encountering coyotes, the Michigan DNR has come out with some tips and a short video explaining how you can "haze a nuisance coyote".
According to MLive.com, this is the time of year that coyotes have pups, so you don't want to get near their dens. As explained in the video, if a coyote approaches you while on a walk, the DNR gives you some safety tips on how to scare them off. After having seen the video, you will no longer catch me out in public without an airhorn and/or my umbrella.
