Michigan Has 3 of the ‘Top 15 Most Dangerous Cities to Travel to in 2023′

OK. Not really.
Our Woven Journey just released its "Top 15 Most Dangerous Cities to Travel to in 2023", and wouldn't you know it? Three Michigan cities have the dubious distinction of having made the list.
What Factors Determine the "Most Dangerous Cities"?
Researchers looked at crime statistics in all American cities with a population of at least 25,000. They based their rankings on the number of violent crimes per 1,000 residents - things like rape, murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault. The resulting data wasn't friendly to Michigan. Only Alabama had more cities rank in the Top 15.
So which three Michigan cities made the list? The results might surprise you.
Kalamazoo, Michigan, is America's "12th Most Dangerous City to Travel to in 2023"
The stats say to look out if you're headed to Kalamazoo. With a violent crime rate of 16.8 per 1,000 residents, you have a 1-in-59 chance of being a victim yourself.
