Michigan company buys Tesla’s electric big-rigs
Yesterday, near L.A., Elon Musk and Tesla unveiled their brand new, electric 18-wheeler.- the Tesla Semi. It will have a top speed of 65 MPH and get between 300 to 500 miles per charge.
According to Bloomberg, Michigan's own Meijer stores stepped up and put down deposits on four of them, for $5,000 each. Experts speculate these trucks will cost $225,000 new, or higher, but save a bunch on fuel. It will be also able to be charged by solar power, so you're about to see a lot of Meijer trucks out on sunny days.
Production will start sometime in 2019.
