Michigan DNR wildlife biologists have confirmed that Michigan black bears are moving south. As proof, on Monday, the DNR had to handle two bear related "incidents" in western Michigan. According to MLive.com, on Monday night, a beagle was killed by a bear near Cadillac and a bear was hit and killed on M-37 near White Cloud, which is about 40 miles directly west of Mt. Pleasant. The DNR reports that the bears are "prevalent" in a swampy area near Cadillac.

So, let's be careful out there campers. Here's the story.
