As of Friday morning, St. Clair Shores Memorial Park Beach on Lake St. Clair is closed to swimming. The reason - according to MLive.com, "tests found high levels of bacteria from an unknown source". I don't know about you, but the scariest part of that sentence is "unknown source". According to MLive, that same beach was closed four times last summer for the same reason.

Umm, what the heck is going on over there, people? You might wanna just have the kids run through the sprinklers, if you live over there.

Granted - that's only one beach out of the thousands that surround Michigan, but it's good to know that somebody's looking out for you. If you want to check on your favorite beach, the website is Michigan Beach Guard.
