While it might not be officially summer on the calendar, the weather we've been having certainly says differently.

Summer begins on June 21st, so we're still a few weeks away. But with high temperatures reaching the low 90s, Greater Lansing area residents need ways to cool off.

Lansing Area Public Pools

Saturday, June 3rd is the opening day for the ELFAC. They'll be open June 3rd through September 4th from 11 am to 7 pm.

There are a variety of pools and equipment for people of all ages to enjoy;

  • Children's Frog Slide
  • Water Play Structures
  • Splash Pad
  • Body and Tube Slides
  • Diving Board
  • Sunbathing Area
  • Picnic Area
  • Concession Stand

Plus, it's pretty inexpensive as well.

Kids 2 years and under are free; Seniors 60 years or older are $10; everyone else is $11 (or $10 after 5 pm). Or, if you know that you're going to be spending a lot of time at the East Lansing Family Aquatic Center this summer, you can opt for the unlimited season pass, which is $95 per person. Heck, you go to the ELFAC nine times in the summer, and it more than pays for itself.

Don't spend the whole summer cooped up in the house sweating and wishing you were in the pool, make it a reality! Either at the East Lansing Family Aquatic Center or one of the other Lansing area public pools. Check out the best swimming holes in Lansing HERE.
