Michigan Bakery’s Superman Ice Cream Cheesecake
All of my life I've never been the biggest sweets fan. Every birthday I'd tell my parents to skip the cake, I'd rather do ice cream or cheesecake. Am I alone here?
Well, a Michigan bakery owner has made all of my childhood dreams come true by making a Superman ice cream cheesecake. Yes, you read that correctly. I thought I was dreaming when I came across it too. You can even add Fruity Pebbles to the top! Someone hand my a napkin, there's drool running down my face.
Cynthia Yousif owns a bakery in Sterling Heights called Cynthia's Edible Arts. She started baking for fun and holidays, but her hobby became her career when her Superman ice cream cheesecake went viral.
Yousif reached out to Chow Down Detroit to try her creation and it blew up. She started receiving messages from people all over wanting to try it. She say's they're not as easy to created as people think.
Not a lot of people can make ice cream cheesecakes. You can’t just buy one from Kroger. It’s like a specialty item. I manually layer them, let them freeze and do it again. It’s like a layered task. You can’t sit and make them all at once. It’s like a six hour process. They have to be completely frozen before going to the next step.
If you're interested in trying out one of Yousif's ice cream cheesecakes, they range from $30 to $50. The Superman ice cream cheesecake is $50 or $55 with Fruity Pebbles. Their full menu is below.
