Michigan Air Guard gets cool new Cyber Squadron
After being in transition for the past decade, the Michigan Air National Guard base in Battle Creek is up and running at full speed. And there's been some changes. After years of hosting the A-10 Warthogs of the 110th Fighter Wing, they now fly remotely piloted aircraft (drones) in combat zones and have just activated the 272nd Cyber Operations Squadron.
According to the BattleCreekEnquirer, the new 272nd will operate on the front lines of any cyber warfare against the U.S. military. So, when the Pentagon gets an email saying their PayPal account has been shut down or there are "beautiful Russian women" who want to marry them - we'll have an overwhelming response.
