The Meridian Township Police Department is doing their part once again to reach out to their community to not only help citizens understand and learn more about their police department, but to also provide a good time for families during the Halloween season.

The Department will host their annual Halloween Open House on Saturday, October 26th from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Meridian Township Police will provide a tour of the Police Department where you will be able to meet the police officers.

It will all take place at the Public Safety Building at 5151 Marsh Road. According to the press release from the Township, here's what else will be happening:

  • A visit with McGruff the Crime Dog
  • Children will receive a candy bag and glow stick for trick-or-treating
  • Sit in a patrol car
  • See the police canine and handler
  • See officer’s tools and equipment
  • Have an opportunity to win prizes
  • Enjoy apple cider, donuts and candy
  • Officers will conduct car seat inspections
