"Mary Poppins Returns" - Written By A Michigander

David Magee was born in Flint, went to college at Michigan State and spent years acting, building sets for off-Broadway productions and re-writing novels so they would make sense as audio books. Then he wrote the script for the movie "Finding Neverland". It was his first movie script and it got him nominated for an Academy Award. So, that was nice.

David went on to write the screenplay for one of my favorite movies of all time - "Life of Pi". And this Christmas we'll get to see his next project: "Mary Poppins Returns", starring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins and co-starring Meryl Streep and Lin-Manuel Miranda. You might have seen the trailer for the movie last night. If not - here it is:
