New York Fried Chicken in Lansing Suddenly Closes After One Year

Lansing has had an unprecedented amount of growth when it comes to restaurant openings over the last year and a half. So far, over 75 restaurants have opened their doors.

Sadly, some restaurants have closed their doors in that time as well. There were over a dozen closures in 2025, and at least five since the start of 2026.

Unfortunately, we have another closure to add to that list.

New York Fried Chicken Pizza and Grill Closes

This fast-casual eatery with New York-style food opened at 5131 N Grand River Avenue near Lansing Airport in January 2025.

In addition to everything the name implied, New York Fried Chicken Pizza and Grill also served everything from burgers to gyros to seafood to chopped cheese to shakes and more. Not to mention, they were open super late to cater to the late-night crowd.

Sadly, they were only open for a little over a year before they shut their doors.

The closure happened very suddenly, with little to no announcement to the public. There was no announcement made to the restaurant's social media pages. The last post made to the restaurant's Facebook page was April 11, 2026. However, it is listed as permanently closed on Google.

Additionally, when I called the number listed for the business, the call didn't even go through.

It's always sad to see a locally owned restaurant close its doors, especially without any warning. It's a tough reminder that it's hard out there for restaurants.
