What Lansing Loves About This Century Old Local Gem
It turns out that there is a lot to love about one place in Lansing that is over 100 years old.
I was doing some normal Facebook scrolling recently when I saw an ode to a certain product, and the place that makes and sells it. That product was something called cobblestone bread. And the place that makes and sells it? Westlund's Apple Market!
Lansing Loves Westlund's Apple Market
A fun Did you know that Westlund's Apple Market is 103 years old? I was blown away when I learned that fact. And in that time, they've created a real home for itself in Lansing.
I absolutely love Westlund's Apple Market. I love that I can get grocery shopping done and support a locally owned and run business. Not only that, but they make some delicious stuff in house, and I'm not just talking about the cobblestone bread.
Besides the lover of cobblestone bread (which by the way, I've never had yet and will have to try now), so many patrons joined the comment section to say what they loved about this local gem.
First, if you haven't heard the controversy about and the extreme love for the old recipe of potato salad, you can read all about that HERE.

But here's what everyone else is raving about:
- Other fresh-baked goods like hot dog and hamburger buns
- Peanut butter cookies
- Fried chicken
- Chicken salad
- Soda bread
- Dill potato salad
- Brats and other market made meats
Basically what everyone is saying is they love Westlund's Apple Market.
But, perhaps the best thing about it is that I can get lunch from the hot bar and a brand new vinyl in the same place. If that's not excellent customer service, I don't know what is.
