Well, it looks like icy conditions will be hitting the Lansing area this weekend. The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Ionia, Shiawassee and Gratiot counties in effect from noon on Saturday until noon on Sunday. They say that with this storm we can expect to see heavy mixed participation. Total sleet accumulations of less than an inch are expected, however, significant icing is expected with this storm. The National Weather Service says that the Lansing area could get ice accumulations of up to a third of an inch.

Please note that the NWS also says that power outages are likely to due to the ice as well as tree damage. Officials say that travel will be dangerous and nearly impossible. Here's the forecast.
