Five Years Later, Lansing Is Still Asking for This Potato Salad
It appears that it's that time of year again. The time of year where Westlund's Apple Market gently reminds Lansing locals that they don't have the potato salad you're looking for.

I was going to make a Star Wars joke about Jedi and the force, but they literally don't have the potato salad you're looking for.
If you're confused, allow me to explain...
The Potato Salad Lansing Still Talks About
Way back in the day, Apple Market used to carry beloved potato salad called "Leon's Potato Salad". "Used to" is the operative phrase because the manufacturer discontinued the product in the fall of 2021.

However, despite having been discontinued for going on five years now, the love for Leon's Potato Salad still persists! People still ask Apple Market employees about the potato salad to this day. To the point where Apple Market basically does a yearly reminder on their Facebook that they don't have Leon's Potato Salad anymore.
I never had the pleasure of trying this potato salad, but the fact that it still haunts Lansing five years later tells me it must have been pretty good.
The Closest Thing to Leon's Potato Salad Today
But alas, there's a silver lining to this cloud, because Apple Market says that the manufacturer of Leon's Potato Salad "has a potato salad that is almost exactly the same, it is called Sandridge Traditional Potato Salad and it is $2.99lb. The only difference is that the potatoes are cut different." Apple Market will even let you taste a sample.

So go ahead and give it a try. But if you really want to see the OG potato salad make a comeback, you'll have to talk to Sandridge Crafted Foods (the manufacturer).
