The City of Jackson is fining Brian McGonegal $270 for having trash in his yard. Brian is happy to pay the fine, but wants to pay it off in the form of 27,000 pennies. 2,700 pennies at a time.

According to MLive.com, the city says Brian came in, right at closing, to pay with a sack of pennies. They told Mr. McGonegal to put the pennies in wrappers. He says he's not going to do that and the city says they won't accept them otherwise. Mr. McGonegal says he's attempted to pay the fine and, as far as he (and a prior Supreme Court ruling) are concerned - the debt has been paid. And he'll go to court to prove it.

Gonna be a long summer at Jackson City Hall.
