Where the Recalled Products Were Sold

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), Ajinomoto Foods North America is pulling back about 3.37 million pounds of frozen chicken fried rice that was shipped to stores across the U.S., including Trader Joe's locations.

Which Dates and Labels Are Affected

The recall affects 20-ounce bags labeled Trader Joe's Chicken Fried Rice with stir-fried rice, veggies, seasoned dark chicken meat and eggs. The packages in question all have "best if used by" dates between September 8, 2026 and November 17, 2026, and carry establishment number P-18356 inside the USDA inspection mark.

Why the Recall Happened

Officials say the issue came to light after four customers reported finding glass in the product, so even if you haven't heard of these injuries yet, the risk is still pretty serious.

What to Do if You Have It

Because the product was sold nationwide and loads of folks keep frozen meals on hand, FSIS is urging people to double-check what is in their freezer. If you find one of the recalled bags, do not eat it. Instead throw it out and take it back to the store where you bought it for a refund.
