Another U.P. Restaurant That Bit the Dust: Zaborsky’s on US-2
This little eatery along US-2 west of St. Ignace is no more.
The name was Zaborksy's Restaurant and is another of the quaint restaurants, motels, and other types of roadside stops and attractions that have fallen by the wayside in the Upper Peninsula.
Little is written or known about Zaborsky’s, other than it seems to have originated in the 1940s. Lou and Ann Zaborsky were the owners of this little roadside diner and turned it into one of US-2's finer places to eat. An old postcard dated in the 1960s says it has been operating in the same location for 18 years, putting the timeline back to the 1940s.

Known as “The House of Delicious Foods and Cocktails,” Zaborsky’s became popular thanks to their sizzlin’ steaks, fish, and chicken.
The exact location was 2223 US-2, St. Ignace. The date it closed is unknown, but it sat empty and abandoned for most of the 2000s. It was eventually demolished around 2016 and now all that remains is the half-moon drive that leads up to an empty spot where the diner once stood. Photos are below.
