A Ranch Dressing Spill Causes The Most Michigan Road Closure Possible
If there's one thing Michiganders love, it's ranch dressing. Some people put that special condiment on everything. Salad, pizza, chicken wings, french fries, heck, I bet people would go swimming in the stuff if they had the chance. Ranch is one of the food's best friends. Apparently, asphalt and Ranch have begun speaking too. Confused? I bet.
In perhaps the most Midwest highway closure imaginable, I-94 was closed after a semi-truck crashed into a bridge...spilling dressing all over the road. That's right, police and commuters had to avoid an entire semi truck's load of ranch dressing after a truck crashed into a bridge, blocking multiple lanes.
Not Your Typical Salad
On Tuesday, August 20th, commuters were met with a surprise when a semi-truck full of salad dressing shredded the side of its trailer off after crashing into a bridge on I-94. Ranch and debris littered the road, causing I-94 to go down to one lane while crews assessed the situation.
Aerial footage of the crash gave a better view of the semi-truck after the crash, showing most of the truck bed was completely torn from the truck. Thankfully, no one was injured in the crash. The accident took around 4 hours to clean up according to MDOT - Metro Detroit's official Twitter/X account.
As quirky as the accident was due to the contents of the semi-truck, it's a miracle no one was hurt. Let's hope the driver got collision insurance on that rental.
