It’s Time To Apply For Your 2023 Michigan Turkey Hunting Permit
Michigan turkey hunting is fantastic and if you want to be a part of the fun you only have a month to apply for your turkey hunting permit for 2023.
Michigan Turkey Hunting
Turkeys were not always this abundant in the state of Michigan. It has actually taken several years of stocking birds from other states into Michigan and now birds are thriving in both the Lower and Upper Peninsula.
Back in 1977, only 400 turkeys were harvested for the whole season and as of 2022 over 30,000 birds are harvested. That is a big change but the biggest news is for the first time in history, wild turkeys can be found in every county in the state. With the turkeys being so plentiful across Michigan, a hunter's odds of bagging a big old bluehead are pretty good.

I really like using the pop-up blind for turkey hunting. I have hunted without the blind on harvested several birds but they have keen eyesight and you have a lot more freedom to move around in a blind.
In order to get out in the woods to bag a turkey you first need to apply for your permit. The dates for applying are January 1 through February 1, 2023. It costs only $5 to apply. To apply now click here. The results of the drawing will be posted on March 6.

Turkey hunting is one of the most fun and easy sports to learn. It is also a great way to introduce youths to hunting and a great way to bond with family and friends.
