Holt/Mason Special Olympics Flag Football Headed To USA Games
The Area 8 (Holt/Mason) Special Olympics Unified Flag Football team is headed to Seattle for the 2018 USA Games! The group of ten players consist of current and former Holt and Mason High School students, who participate in what’s called Unified Sports. According to Holt Athletics.com, Project Unified joins people without intellectual disabilities with Special Olympians to play together and promote social inclusion through sports. The Area 8 team recently took home first place in their tournament in Chelsea, Michigan which qualified them for the USA Games, where they will represent Team Michigan.
