A new study looking at academics, sports, facilities and more has revealed the highest-rated high schools in Mid-Michigan.
The school ranking and review site niche.com considers a wide variety of criteria when deciding what schools rise above the rest in any given region, from the quality of their faculty, to their food, to how well they prepare students for what lies ahead.

Here's a look at the 8 high schools that reign supreme in Mid-Michigan.
8. DeWitt High School
DeWitt High School ranks 8th in Mid-Michigan, and 93rd in the state as a whole. It received its highest marks for its athletic and academic programs. Its administration, resources and facilities were ranked slightly above average.
7. Haslett High School
Haslett High School comes in 7th among Mid-Michigan high schools, and 86th among the state overall. Its academic scores were its best feature, with its resources and facilities ranking slightly above average.
6. Williamston High School
Williamston High School's administration gets marks that are just slightly above average, but the school scores well on the academic front. It ranks 73rd in the state, and 6th among high schools in Mid-Michigan.
5. Chelsea High School
The academic and athletic programs at Chelsea High School get "A" ratings, and its clubs and activities are highly-rated too. The school gets "C+" ratings for its administration and diversity. Overall, Chelsea High ranks 5th in Mid-Michigan and 54th in the state as a whole.
4. Byron Center High School
Byron Center High School is the 4th-ranked public high school in Mid-Michigan, with its academics, athletics, administration, faculty and food all receiving "A" or "A-" rankings. The school ranks 52nd in the state overall.
3. H.H. Dow High School
H.H. Dow High School in Midland ranks as Mid-Michigan's 3rd best high school, largely on the strength of its teachers and academics. Its athletics program rates well too. Statewide, the school ranks 47th.
2. East Lansing High School
East Lansing High School ranks as the 2nd-best high school in Mid-Michigan, and 27th best in the state overall. Its academic and athletic programs get high marks, as do its diversity and college prep scores. Resources and facilities at ELHS are rated slightly above average.
1. Okemos High School
Not only in Okemos High School the top-rated public high school in Mid-Michigan, it ranks 8th in the state. It makes the honor roll with all "A's" and "B's" - scoring highest for its college preparedness, diversity, academics and faculty. Its lowest mark - a "B" - came for its resources and facilities.
