High Bacteria Levels Close Multiple Michigan Beaches
If you're thinking about heading to the beach this weekend to cool off, you'd better make sure it's actually going to be open!
According to the Detroit Free Press, "three Michigan beaches have been closed, and three more are on contamination advisories, after high bacteria levels were found in the water." The beaches that are closed include:
- Veterans Memorial Park beach in St. Clair Shoes
- Lakeshore Park beach in Walled Lake
- Chrysler Beach in Marysville
No word yet on the source of the high bacteria levels, but each local health department is working on the issue, so hopefully they won't be closed for too long. Also be aware that Michiana Village and Lions Park beaches are under a contamination advisory. Get more details on the different beach closures and advisories here.
