I hadn't really planned to do posts about the U.P. two days in a row, but I've been alerted to the fact that today is September 6th, "906 Day", in honor of the 906 area code of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. And because of that, MLive.com has come up with a list of reasons why we should all celebrate the U.P. Their's is an enviable list, which includes the Mackinac Bridge and Pictured Rocks, but leaves out the Yooper Tourist Trap in Ishpeming, the many areas with no cell-phone coverage - allowing you to truly disconnect and while it mentions pasties and wildlife, there's no mention of Bigfoot. And if you've ever been to Muldoon's Pasties in Munising, you know they love their Bigfoot.
