Michigan’s Most Addictive Chip Might Surprise You
All right. Fair warning. I am planting my flag on this one, and I am not budging.
The best potato chip in the state of Michigan — hands down — is Michigan Cherry BBQ from Great Lakes Potato Chip Co. out of Traverse City.
Yeah, I said it. And I will argue it at a tailgate, a backyard cookout, or right there beside that massive pallet full of them at Sam's Club if you wanna go.

Because these aren't just "good chips." Oh, no. These are the "nom nom nom" variety.
Why Michigan Cherry BBQ Chips Hit Different
You get that first crunch — and it's LOUD. Stare all you want. I don't care. Kettle-cooked, thick-cut, satisfying crunch that lets you know you're dealing with a serious chip right outta the bag.
Then comes the flavor... and this is where this chip separates from the rest of the pack.
The Sweet-Tangy-Smoky Combo That Hooks You
That Michigan cherry hits first — a little sweet, a little tangy, just enough to make your brain go, "Wait, what is THAT?" And before you can even figure out that opening act, the BBQ flavor comes rolling in like a headliner. Smoky, savory, a little bold... and now you're fully committed.
Next thing you know, you're not snacking anymore. You just made a meal out of chips.
A Chip That Actually Tastes Like Michigan
And what I love best? These taste like authentic Michigan. Legit local cherries, a local company, the kind of chip you bring camping or to a Tigers tailgate and suddenly everyone's asking who brought "those chips."

A word of caution though — when you open your first bag, do not expect an "I'll just have a couple chips and I'm good" situation. This will be more like a "well, there went half the bag" situation. Trust me. Been there. The chips in these pictures no longer exist. They are now in my belly.
