It's not just you, it's everyone
The flushing has begun.
The City of Grand Ledge issued a public notice this past weekend about water main flushing. It started Monday and is expected to last for roughly about 2 weeks (until October 4th).
What can you expect? That water pressure thing, water being discolored, and more. There are advisories as to when to wash your clothes and what to do if they become stained during this flushing period.
Residents are encouraged to postpone doing laundry between 7:30 am – 3:30 pm during this period. If you experience any discoloration, please wait approximately 30 minutes for DPS to move out of your area, then run cold water in a sink or bathtub until clear. (City of Grand Ledge)
They also want you to know that flushing locations change daily. So if you haven't been affected yet, chances are you will be soon.
To help out with where the city will be executing flushing daily, please check here. They have provided a handy map that should let you know when they will be doing this in your neighborhood.
As always your patience is appreciated and this is a necessary process. Find out more in the graphic above.
You can also sign up for text alerts so when citywide events like this go down, you'll be the first to know.
