Good News For Michigan Bars and Restaurants

My heart goes out to all the bars and restaurants who have had a touch year.  They have had it incredibly tough the last 16 months.  Restaurant and bar owners have had to work so hard to keep their doors open, sadly some could not. Talk about having lots of stress in your life, wow.  Yes, it has been tough on most everyone, but when your livelihood, and health are at risk, it can seem like the end of the world.

Here is some good news from fox47news.com. After all the troubles Michigan restaurants and bars have faced recently, they can now apply for federal aid from the Restaurant Revitalization Fund.

Restaurant owners and other food establishments have made incredible sacrifices over the past year to keep their communities safe and slow the spread of COVID-19,” Governor Gretchen Whitmer. said in a press release. “This vital relief will help ensure they can keep their doors open and continue to serve their communities while also ensuring their workers can stay employed entering the critical summer season.

Here is what bar and restaurant owners need to know. Funding is now underway and you have to register with an application staring today at noon.  According to the state of Michigan for the first 21 days, the Small Business Association of Michigan will immeadialtly handle funding applications from businesses owned by women, veterans, and socially and economically disadvantaged people.

Keep this in mind, when the 21 days is over, and you still want help it will be on a first come, first served basis with an online application. Food stands, food trucks, food carts; caterers; bars, saloons, lounges, taverns; brewpubs, tasting rooms, taprooms; breweries, wineries and distilleries; and bakeries are all eligible.
