Great news for people who love gizzards and great events. After being gone for three years, Potterville's Gizzard Fest is back, according to the Lansing State Journal.

For many years, in fact 17, Gizzard Fest was a fun destination that was centered around Joe's Gizzard City, whose deep fried chicken gizzards and accompanying restaurant menu gained fame not only by being sought after both locally and regionally, but also by being featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" on the Food Network.

Joe Bristol, the owner of Joe's Gizzard City on West Main Street in Potterville ran the event for many years but in late 2016 announced that others would need to step in to organize the festival or it would have to be cancelled. After an absence of a couple years, help has arrived and Gizzard Fest will be back, once again featuring Joe's gizzards.
