Well, here's something that we all figured would happen at some point. AAA is reporting that gas prices in Michigan are continuing to increase. It was only a few weeks back--April 27th, 2020 to be exact--that we were paying the lowest prices on a gallon of gasoline in over a decade. On that particular date, AAA reported that drivers in Michigan were paying an average of $1.42 per gallon for regular unleaded, which they said was the lowest price for a gallon of gasoline since December of 2002.

Well, now as there are more people in Michigan that are slowly starting to head back to work, the demand for gas is going up which means that prices are now going up as well. AAA is reporting that the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Michigan has jumped 31 cents compared to last week. The average price now in Michigan for a gallon of regular unleaded is $1.84. However, here's some good news, that's still 99 cents less than this time last year. Click here to see the current prices of gasoline throughout Michigan.
