Flint has welcomed a brand new restaurant in the former location of BD's Mongolian BBQ.

The former BD's Mongolian BBQ on Miller Road had sat empty since late 2024. Now, the building has been reopened as Joe's Yummy Bowl Stir-Fry & Sushi.

New Michigan Restaurants

Here's the thing: every single BD’s Mongolian BBQ location in Michigan has closed in recent years. So, if you really miss building your own stir-fry, Joe's Yummy Bowl has similar vibes.

You can still build your own stir-fry bowls from scratch but there's a much more extensive menu compared to the former BD's.

The menu at Joe's Yummy Bowl also boasts appetizers, soup, sushi, poke-style bowls, Korean fried chicken, and more.

As far as service goes, you still build-your-own stir-fry. But if you order something like an appetizer, it might come out on this little robot!

How cute is this little guy?

It seems like Flint really missed having a Mongolian stir-fry place because so far the reviews are pretty stellar. Here's one of the many from Google:

I WOULD recommend yummy bowl. They did a great job remodeling the building. Everything is clean and pretty to look at. I think the little super market part of the restaurant is adorable and has an awesome selection. The service was pleasant. They even have those little robots that deliver appetizers and stuff which was entertaining. The food was great! We will be returning :)

It's always great to hear about another restaurant opening! Especially one that is similar to a restaurant that no longer exists within the state of Michigan.
