The USS Detroit (LCS-7) is conducting sea trials and about to be delivered to the U.S. Navy. The Detroit is a freedom class littoral combat ship, built on Lake Michigan's Green Bay, in Marinette, Wisconsin. It will be used on the open seas, but will also be used in shallow water, close to shore (known as the littoral zone).

According to the Detroit Metro Times, it has a top speed of about 40 knots, making it one of the fastest ships in the U.S. Navy. It has a large flight deck, a 57mm gun, surface to air missiles, will carry one or more MH-60 helicopters, be very maneuverable and carry a 40-foot inflatable landing craft.

So, everything your friendly, local Navy SEAL Team might need.
