According to a report from the Detroit News, the number of cases of canine flu has been increasing in Michigan since mid-July. In the last three weeks nearly 50 cases have been reported throughout the state of Michigan. Canine flu cases were reported in  Huron, Kent, Macomb, Oakland, Ottawa and Wayne counties. Symptoms of the dog flu include fever, coughing, lethargy and nasal and eye discharge.

The number of cases this year is a cause for concern, as last year only nine cases of canine influenza were reported for the entire year. Click here to find out more about the canine flu and what to do if your dog gets sick.
