Dierks Bentley Concert Reschedules At Firekeepers
Looking back, I just can't believe it was 17 years ago.
Really? 17 years? But as crazy as it seems, that is the first time Dierks Bentley walked into the Witte White House with his guitar and a cardboard cutout of his beloved dog, Jake and performed on the air for the very first time for the Wittle Family of listeners.
If you're wondering why the cardboard cutout, well Dierks obviously loved that dog and when a country artist begins their career, it usually involves visiting a lot of radio stations throughout the country. Who wants to drag a dog through all of that? Right? (-: So Dierks' answer to that problem was to bring a cardboard Jake, which allowed him to tell the story of how much he loved his dog and then sing some great songs.
Time went by and Dierks would come back to Lansing to perform at The Whiskey Barrel Saloon..."Clippert and Kalamazoo just south of Frandor, where you can drink til your full and ride Dick the Bull"...By the way, shout out to all of my Whiskey Barrel family from back in the day. Love you guys...
Dierks would also end up headlining our Taste of Country concert at Cooley Law School Stadium in 2015.
Dierks made other appearances in the area through the years and his most recent one was to be at Firekeeper's Casino in Battle Creek. However due to the COVID-19 pandemic, his show at the casino has been rescheduled to July 9, 2021.
