Tragically, MSU punter Michael Sadler died in a car accident that took place last July. Not only was Sadler a gifted athlete, but a gifted student as well... "he was the first four-time Academic All-American in MSU history". His memory lives on in MSU awards and dedications among other things. And now his memory will live on in a beer dedicated to him!

According to the Jagged Mountain Brewery website, they'll be debuting a beer that they've brewed in tribute to Michael Sadler on Friday, June 2nd. Apparently Mike liked to dabble in beer brewing himself, so Jagged Mountain Brewery used some of Michael's "favorite creations" to make his tribute beer!

It's a wheat ale that Jagged Mountain has dubbed "Hey Diddle Diddle" in honor of the trick play/fake punt that Mike ran of the same name. I wish I could be in Colorado to taste this brew, it sounds delicious! The wheat ale is "brewed with oranges and apricots, and finished with a touch of Belgian yeast and roses." The bottle's label is the perfect finishing touch, as it features roses surrounding Mike's jersey number: 3.

Michael's mother Karen and sister Katie got to participate in the brewing process, and Karen will also speak at the "Hey Diddle Diddle" release party. To check out photos of the brew process and the label, as well as more details about the release party, click here.
