Soon, we'll again be hearing the song "Belleau Wood", from Garth Brooks. If you've never heard it, it's a Christmas song based on real events that happened during World War I, on Christmas Eve of 1914. Last year I wrote about the events, and the fact that they did happen all along the western front, but not at Belleau Wood. This year, on the 100th anniversary, Sainsbury's, the largest supermarket chain in the U.K., just put out a TV spot that celebrates the "Christmas truce" of 1914. Thanks to my buddies Bob and Chuck for giving me the heads up on this one.
