Yesterday it was announced that Carl Edwards is retiring as a NASCAR driver after 13 years. This morning at 10AM Joe Gibbs Racing will hold a press conference where they will announce that Daniel Suarez will take over as the driver of the #19 car. Nobody has been able to find out why Carl is retiring. According to Fox Sports it's to "pursue other interests outside of driving".

HOWEVER, there's some speculation via ESPN, that because it's been announced that Carl won't be driving in 2017, the door has been left open to return with another team, at a later date.

Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and now, Carl Edwards retiring. Who's next?
