I know two things before I even get started here.

  1. That title is polarizing.
  2. Comedy is subjective.

I totally understand all that going in and I've prepared for this one.

Come at me. I'm ready.

Fight me.

The Office is an Americanized remake and not a very good one at that.

I know you're probably going to want to tell me that I'm late, the show is no longer on the air, and I should have made my complaints when it was relevant.

But fans of Michael Scott and all things Dunder Mifflin won't let it go.

"That's what she said".

You do know that line existed in the world well before this show right?

Fans of the original version from the UK are not fans of the Americanized take on the hit show.

Here in the States, we don't necessarily have a good track record of converting their shows to ours.

However, the show on NBC did work. For the critics and a whole new slew of people who had never seen it before. Not so much so for people who were familiar with the show.

And me.

Throw in that whole documentary/mockumentary style they were going for and that's another no for me. Folks looking at the camera, talking to the camera, and I don't really get if they were filming a documentary or not. It was abstract. I get the joke in Family Guy where we don't know if everyone can hear or talk to Stewie. That's funny to me.

Not The Office.

The Office fans are the ones that really make it a no for me.

I honestly think I can sum up my feelings about The Office with the following.

Truer words were never spoken.

And my friend Kristen will probably never talk to me again.

Speaking of, the only real reason I decided to vocalize my disdain for this show is that SHE had to let everyone know how much she was OVER Seinfeld.

And I also understand that this show is so beloved that even though it ended over 23 years ago, fans are still obsessed.

But please, for the love of the dear Lord himself, STOP trying to convince me to watch Seinfeld. I can't take it anymore.

I'm not really into Seinfeld honestly. But knowing how much she absolutely LOVES The Office, I couldn't resist letting her know her show sucks too.

Up next, I think we might have to take a swing at all things Harry Potter.

Come at me bro.
