Now that it's starting to get warmer outside, like many Michiganders, my family and I are spending more time outside.

I know, I know... What about outdoor winter activities? To those asking that question, I will answer with this only: I am not an "outdoorsy" person, and outdoor winter activities that don't include sipping hot chocolate by a fire aren't really for me.

So, back to my point, I'm spending much more time outside these days (a little bit to my chagrin because again; not an outdoorsy person).

What's This Weird Hole in My Deck Wood?

And during one of my most recent jaunts into my backyard, I noticed a very odd looking hole in my deck railing. Take a look...

What made this hole so odd was that it was so big and symmetrical, almost like it had been drilled into. However, neither my husband nor I have drilled into this deck anytime recently. And, this hole wasn't there last summer Which means it had to have been done recently.

Did a Bug Do This?

The only other partial piece of information I have is that it's very likely a bug, because one time my toddler exclaimed, "buggy!", while pointing at the hole. But, I didn't turn in time to see what had come out of or into the hole.
