According to Fox Sports, Hendrick Motorsports announced this morning that Dale Earnhardt Jr will not drive in ANY of the remaining NASCAR Sprint Cup series races this year. This comes as a result of the concussion he suffered in a crash at Michigan Intl. Speedway, in June. Since then he's missed six races.

In his place for the remaining twelve races - Alex Bowman will drive in eight races and Jeff Gordon will drive in four.

Junior says this is NOT the end of his career, saying, "I plan to be healthy and ready to compete at Daytona in February. I’m working toward that."

I can only hope that all works out for him.
