"We're talkin' trottin', trottin', trottin'..."

If I had a dime for every time I played that commercial jingle in my early days on 100.7 WITL, I just might have been able to retire some time ago.

The commercial and jingle of course promoted the legendary Jackson Harness Raceway, which now after over 60 years in existence and with the last race held at the track in 2008, will be demolished after this year's Jackson County Fair.

According to WILX-TV the demolition will create more fairground space. Horse races were held today there to commemorate the many great years of the track, which we called "The Grandstand". It hosted some of country music's biggest stars when the massive stage was built every year there during the Jackson County Fair.

Too many names to remember, but a few are Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, Brooks & Dunn, Rascal Flatts.

Check out more info about the track closing here.
