Banana Don’s Slice of Americana -Things To Do In The Snow

Apparently, we'll be getting some snow early next week. But the fun doesn't have to stop just because the temperature dips. For those of you new to the Mid-Michigan area, especially folks who have never spent a whole winter in sub-freezing temperatures, here's a helpful guide to four popular winter activities in the Mitten State.

1. Wanna try out skiing, but there's no hills close by? We Michiganders get around that problem by bringing winter indoors - to our garages, basements or if you've got the space - formal living rooms:

2. Who doesn't love to squaredance? And there's no better way to meet your neighbors than strapping on the snowshoes and having them over for a Michigan winter hoedown!:

Obviously not the Upper Peninsula - the ladies would be in dresses. Yah?

3. Your public pool closed after Labor Day? Not on the typical Mid-Michigan farm:

 Somebody's a fan of old movies!

4. Where you come from, winter and outdoor aquariums may not mix. Not in Michigan!
