Fox Sports Detroit will become Bally Sports Detroit on March 31st, FSD announced on Wednesday.

That is one day before the Detroit Tigers open the 2021 regular season at Comerica Park (entrance shown above) against the Cleveland Indians.  When it becomes Bally Sports Detroit, the carrier announced that it will carry 161 of the 162 regular season games, starting with Opening Day in Detroit against Cleveland.

You'll still have "Tigers Live" before and after every game.  With the usual cast of John Keating, Dan Petry, Craig Monroe, Mickey York, Trevor Thompson, and Johnny Kane either at Comerica Park or in the Detroit-area studios.

Matt Shepard, Jack Morris, and Kirk Gibson will provide the coverage from the booth once again.

Fox Sports Detroit has been around since 1997, when it replaced PASS Sports (Pro Am Sports Systems) on your cable lineup.  But with Sinclair Broadcasting selling off its Fox Sports regional networks, a new name change was imminent.
