BAD Brewing Company in Mason, Michigan Adds Their Own Food to the Fun
The first time I ever went to BAD Brewing Company in Mason was for their Winterfest back in January of 2020 (pre-COVID times, man). After living in Grand Rapids for I was familiar with breweries that don't serve food. Some, like BAD Brewing would have food trucks every now and again but it is always exciting when a place that already has great beer and a great vibe decides to take on making some great food!
Good Bites Food Truck Drives Away
For a while, the Good Bites food truck was a staple for BAD Brewing visitors. However, with the ongoing pandemic we find ourselves in, staffing issues and many people deciding to try new ventures, Good Bites decided to focus more on the catering side of their business.
However, when the (above) announcement was made on the brewery's Instagram page, they said they were "working on a solution" and as of August 20th, they shared they will be taking over the food in-house!
Michigan Food, Michigan Beer, What Could be BADder?
*That's supposed to be a play on the word "better"...I'm trying to be more pun-ny.*
According to their Instagram, all the food will be mostly Michigan-sourced, which is awesome to see local businesses trying to help each other out!
Sarah Knupfer, marketing manager, told FOX 47 the menu "includes hamburgers, char sui grilled cheese, street corn and Oaxaca chicken salad."
Knupfer told FOX 47 the menu is actually the brainchild of a local chef, Scott Macpherson who will be adapting the menu from time-to-time "based on local opportunities and Macpherson's creativity."
According to FOX 47, for now, the food will only be offered in-house on Wednesdays through Fridays as well as Saturdays and Sundays.
"We only have two people working our kitchen right now, so we've decided to close the kitchen on Mondays and Tuesdays to give them a couple of days off," Knupfer told FOX 47. "Once we're fully staffed, we'll definitely open the kitchen hours up. The brewery is still open on Mondays and Tuesdays, so customers can feel free to bring their own food on those days."
As this brewery makes this new expansion, things will definitely be looking a bit different at BAD Brewing but their iconic beers, ciders and adult slushies will always be a staple.
You can check out BAD Brewing Co. and their food this weekend during Mason's 10th Annual Sun Dried Music Festival!
Who knows, maybe one day they'll make a list like this one of the best burgers in Michigan:
