Avoid These Roads On Friday For MSU’s Homecoming Parade
This week is MSU's Homecoming! All this week there will be fun activities all over East Lansing and MSU's campus. Most of these activities won't affect roads or travel, but one will; the MSU Homecoming Parade.
According to the City of East Lansing website, the parade steps off at 6 pm. However, keep in mind that road closures for the parade will start way earlier in the day. Here's a look at what roads will be closed and when.
- Abbot Rd between Whitehills and Burcham from 2:30 - 7 pm
- Abbot Rd between Burcham and Grand River from 5:30 - 7:15 pm
- Burcham Dr between Old Hickory Lane and Abbot Rd from 3 - 7:15 pm
- Grand River between Abbot Rd and the Collingwood Drive/Farm Lane entrance to MSU's campus from 5:30 - 7:15 pm
- Centerlawn Ave between Forest and Abbot Rd from 2:30 - 7 pm
- Evergreen Ave between Centerlawn and Northlawn from 2:30 - 7 pm
- Forest St between Centerlawn and Northlawn from 2:30 - 7 pm
- Fern St between Evergreen and Abbot Rd from 2:30 - 7 pm
- Northlawn Ave between Forest St and Abbot Rd from 2:30 - 7 pm
There are some suggestions as far as alternate routes, but my advice would be to avoid driving through East Lansing all together. Click here for more details on the detours.
