A Star From Hamilton, And Hamilton, Coming To The Wharton Center
First, Aaron Burr...Leslie Odom Jr.
His name is Leslie Odom Jr. and I love this man. He's been doing Broadway for a while. He's had some great roles including starring in "Rent", but the one that sent his star over the moon (and got him a Tony) was his role in Hamilton as Aaron Burr.
He's got some showstoppers in the Broadway production and is almost a scene stealer from Lin Manuel Miranda. This rendition of "Wait For It" still gives me chills.
He moved on from Hamilton to star in several movies including "Murder On The Orient Express" with Johnny Depp.
And if you have Amazon Prime I highly suggest you check out "One Night In Miami" where he plays the legendary Sam Cooke.
And he's released a solo project called "Mr" featuring one of my other favorite songs from him "Under Pressure".
He will be live at The Wharton Center December 5th (the day after my birthday and if I get a chance to meet him I will fanboy so hard I might be kept away by security).
Let There Be Hamilton...Again.
Last time Hamilton was at the Wharton Center it was back in 2019. And it's coming back again in 2022.
You can catch this production at the Wharton Center March 29th through April 10th.
Tickets also on sale for this now.
It is AN AMAZING SHOW and the stage and production alone is worth the price of admission.
And just a heads up, Leslie is no longer a part of the production. His show is separate. Just wanted to clear that up so there is no confusion. If you want to see him in Hamilton, you'll have to get Disney+.
