It has also been embraced by fashionistas. A $16 hat turned the company into a billion-dollar one. Everywhere on social media, the clothing maker labels can be seen. You can't scroll through TikTok for more than a few minutes without seeing a hat with the white & golden yellow label.

Carhartt CEO, Mark Valade, has decided to continue with a vaccine mandate. He emailed every Carhartt employee informing them the supreme court ruling did not change the company’s COVID vaccine policy.

The email says,

"The ruling does not change Carhartt’s mandatory vaccination program, which went into effect on January 4th."

This is not sitting well with the company's core audience. The decision caused a backlash, calls for a boycott and even triggered former customers to burn their Carhartt apparel.

Former MMA fighter Tim Kennedy declared, “Goodbye Carhartt.”

Social media personality Adam Calhoun wrote on Facebook,

"Carhartt you messed up. This is one of the most sentimental things I have. This is my hat man… It’s been everywhere on the road with me and in almost every video I’ve ever made. It smells from all the sweat and dirt. It has oil stains and weld burns. Bottom line is, if you’ve seen me, you’ve seen this hat. No more."

Carhartt responded,

"Carhartt fully understands and respects the varying opinions on this topic, and we are aware some of our associates do not support this policy. However, we stand behind our decision because we believe vaccines are necessary to protect our workforce."

Will you still wear Carhartt apparel?
