SPOTLIGHT: The 5 Michigan YouTubers with the Biggest Following
Not too many years ago, if you asked a group of young boys and girls what they would like to be when they grew up, you'd get a lot of these answers: a veterinarian, a teacher, a musician, or a movie star.
Now, according to earthweb.com:
75% of children between the ages of 6 and 17 say that they want to become YouTubers.
That's a major shift, but several Michiganders have done just that. Whether they're comedians, gamers, or social media influencers, Michigan is home to some very successful YouTubers.

5. PontiacMadeDDG
As his screen name suggests, Dwight Granberry, Jr. is from Pontiac. As PontiacMadeDDG, he's been producing skit, prank and parody videos on various social media platforms since 2014. He currently has 2.98 million YouTube subscribers.
4. Chris Sails
Chris Sails from Detroit has 3 million subscribers on YouTube. He's a rapper, musician, and songwriter whose young son (Chris Sails, Jr.) is almost as popular as he is! Chris Sr.'s ex-wife is quite the YouTube star herself... you'll learn more about her in just a bit.
3. Myth
Gamer Ali Kabbani, aka "Myth", is from Dearborn. He's a pro Fortnite player who livestreams a lot of content on YouTube, where he currently boasts some 4.56 million subscribers.
2. Queen Naija
The afore-mentioned Chris Sails' ex-wife is Queen Naija Bulls from Ypsilanti. As Queen Naija, she's built quite the following of her own as a vlogger and singer. You might also recognize her from Season 13 of American Idol. She has 5.09 million YouTube subscribers.
1. CoryxKenshin
Cory Williams from Detroit is Michigan's most-followed YouTuber by a large margin. As CoryxKenshin, he has 14.6 million subscribers on the platform. The website thefamouspeople.com credits his success to his "unique approach to gameplay, and a quirky, yet refreshingly clean sense of humor".
