Michigan State’s Campus Will Host The 2022 Izzo Legacy 5K
Walk, run, jog, skip, or roll. No matter how you would like to participate, you have the chance to be a part of Tom Izzo's Legacy during this year's annual Izzo Legacy 5K Run/Walk/Roll.
The Izzo Legacy
The Izzo Legacy 5K is an opportunity for Michigan State University students and Alumni, along with Mid-Michigan community members, to come out and take part in a "positive celebration of Coach Izzo's Legacy". Not only that, but the 5K is also a chance to raise money for the charities that are close to the hearts of the Izzo family. Charities and organizations from right in our own backyard, like the Lansing Promise H.O.P.E. scholarship, Cristo Rey Community Center, Ele's Place, the Greater Lansing Food Bank, and plenty more.
Lupe Izzo had this to say,
Tom and I feel it’s important to give back to our community that has given us so much over the years. We know the generous work our selected charities do and the difficulties they have had over the last couple of years.
If you want to give back, get your fitness on, have a cool experience on MSU's campus, or all of the above, this might be the event for you.
The 2022 Izzo Legacy 5K Run/Walk/Roll
The event itself will take place on Michigan State's campus on the morning of Saturday, April 16th, just before the spring football game.
Tickets are on sale now. And what's cool is you can participate in more than one way. Maybe you're not quite up for a 5K but would still like to go? Then perhaps the 3/4 Mile Walk and Roll would be more your speed? If the kids would like to join and you know that 5K is more than they can handle, you could sign them up for the 1/2 mile children's race. However you'd prefer to participate, you can find info here.
